Instructor Certification
LessonsThatRock employs a rigourous instructor training class certification program to monitor the growth and experience of our guitar, bass and piano music instructors. This ensures good combatability between our music instructors and you. Each of our instructors are Live-Scanned, and background checked for your safety. Below are just a few of the requirements necessary for each certification level.
Class D "Shredder" Certification
- Fill out the Instructor Background Form
- Fill out 4 Lesson Plan Workups
- Instruct a lesson to a beginner
- Pass the Instructor Training Quiz
- Listen to 2 hours of training audio
- Engage in 4 hours of training
- Become Live-Scanned
Class C "Roadie" Certification
To meet Class C Certification requirements, music instructors must meet the following criteria:
- Play and name 50 basic chords
- Demonstrate fretboard memorization
- Demonstrate the ability to tune a guitar to itself in under 2 minutes
- Sing and play 3 songs from the Student Songbook
- Instruct a beginning level lesson to a Master Instructor.
- Attend 5 hours of training classes
- Pass a Class C "Roadie" Test
Class B "Rockstar" Certification
To meet Class B Certification requirements, music instructors must meet the following criteria:
- Be "Roadie" Certified
Demonstrate the ability to ear train music
- Instruct a theory and technique lesson to a Master Instructor.
- Attend 10 hours of training classes
- Pass a Class B "Rockstar" Test
Class A "Master Instructor" Certification
To meet Class A Certification requirements, instructors must meet the following criteria:
- Be "Rockstar" certified
Instruct 50 group lessons (2 or more people)
- Demonstrate the ability the read and play standard notation
- Perform at least 10 songs with various students at a public gig with a Master Instructor in attendance.
- Instruct an advanced theory and technique lesson to a Master Instructor.
- Attend 15 hours of advanced training classes
- Pass a Class A "Master Instructor Test"
